John Hopkins University Pediatric Integrated Care Collaborative The Pediatric Integrated Care Collaborative (PICC) strives to improve access to trauma prevention and treatment services for families with young children by identifying and developing the best practices for trauma-informed integrated care.

SAMHSA Treatment Improvement Protocol: Trauma-Informed Care in Behavioral Health Services SAMHSA's TIP 57 on Trauma-Informed Care in Behavioral Health Services assists behavioral health professionals in understanding the impact and consequences for those who experience trauma. It includes patient assessments, treatment planning strategies that support recovery, and information on building a trauma-informed care workforce.

Center for Youth Wellness National Pediatric Practice Community The NPPC embraces a co-designed approach that ensures that materials and training are responsive to member needs and that lessons learned as a community are disseminated  widely to advance medical practice. NPPC also is working with a select number of medical practices to help us better understand the experience and process of integrating ACEs screening into clinical settings. Data, insights and learnings from these “pilot sites” will be shared with NPPC members.

Center for Health Care Strategies Trauma-Informed Care Implementation Resource Center The new Trauma-Informed Care Implementation Resource Center, developed by the Center for Health Care Strategies with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, offers a one-stop information hub for health care providers and other stakeholders interested in implementing trauma-informed care.

Center for Health Care Strategies Advancing Trauma-Informed Care Collaborative Advancing Trauma-Informed Care, led by the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) through support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is a national initiative aimed at understanding how trauma-informed approaches can be practically implemented across the health care sector.

Trauma Transformed Trauma Informed Systems (TIS) Framework TIS is an organizational change model developed by San Francisco Department of Public Health to create context that nurture and sustain trauma-informed practices. TIS is the model that Trauma Transformed uses to organize their trainings.

The National Council on Behavioral Health Trauma-Informed Primary Care: Fostering Resilience and Recovery The National Council is leading the three-year initiative, Trauma-Informed Primary Care: Fostering Resilience and Recovery, to educate health care providers on the importance of trauma-informed approaches in the primary care setting.

Center for Youth Wellness Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire (ACE-Q) Child This version for reference only. Get the latest version from the CYW website.

Loma Linda University Whole Child Assessment (WCA) 2.0 - English & Spanish The WCA offers age-specific versions in English and Spanish for ages 0-20 years old. Each version incorporates questions about exposure to and risk of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), as well as other social determinants, safety, substance use, mental health, relationships, sleep, physical activity, nutrition, dental care, tuberculosis risk, and interval history. Use of the WCA during well-child visits facilitates prioritization of time in order to help identify and address factors most important to health outcomes.

Loma Linda University Whole Child Assessment (WCA) 1.0 - English The WCA comprises several versions for different age groups: 0-6 months, 7-12 months, 1-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-8 years, and 9-11 years. Filled out by parents or caregivers. Another version for 12-17 year-olds is filled out by the kids themselves. Each version has about 50 questions that cover ACEs, nutrition, physical activity, safety of the environment in which the child lives and travels, and experiences at school.

Center for Youth Wellness Health & Wellness Questionnaire Available for Parent/Caregiver, Child/Youth, Adolescent/Adult (13+) Self-Report

Protective Factors Survey (PFS) The Protective Factors Survey was developed for families in the social service system.

Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences Survey (PACES) PACES mixes protective factors with the ACES.

Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) PTGI is about how people have responded (positively) to a particular trauma.

Survey of Well-Being of Young Children (SWYC) SWYC is a series for young children of various ages and is meant for primary care of young children.

Traumatic Events Screening Inventory - Parent Report Revised (TESI-PRR) The TESI-PRR is a 24-item screener that assesses a child's experience of a variety of potential traumatic events including current and previous injuries, hospitalizations, domestic violence, community violence, disasters, accidents, physical abuse, and sexual abuse.

American Academy of Pediatrics The Screening Technical Assistance & Resource Center (STAR Center) The STAR Center offers free assistance to pediatric health care providers seeking to improve early childhood screening, referral, and follow-up in their practice or health care system. Center for the Study of Social Policy A Strengths-Based Approach to Screening Families for Health-Related Social Needs This CSSP article highlights strategies for bringing a strengths-based approach to the administration of screening tools deployed in healthcare settings—tools addressing unsustainable cost and inequity.

Center for Health Care Strategies Screening for Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma This technical assistance tool offers various approaches and considerations for screening adults and children for ACEs and trauma. It draws from the experiences of pilot sites that participated in Advancing Trauma-Informed Care (ATC), a multi-site demonstration made possible by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that sought to identify how trauma-informed approaches can be practically implemented within the health care sector.

Devereux Resilience Scale Devereux Adult Resilience Survey (DARS) is a 23-item reflective checklist that provides adults with information about their personal strengths. The information can be used to help individuals build on these strength, such as creativity and setting limits, so that they can better cope with adversity and the stresses of daily life.

Connor Davidson Resilience Scale A formal research tool to ask about resiliency. Not publicly available and must be requested, but here is the link to their website with some more details.
