During this session, participants heard evaluation highlights across the CALQIC cohort, had time in breakouts for peer sharing around takeaways and what comes next with this work, heard from coaches and representatives from teams, and learned about the revamped TRIADS website and other supportive resources.

During this session, Karissa Luckett shared an overview and the key elements of the ACEs Sustainability Framework and Assessment Tool. Participants also surfaced core challenges in sustaining and spreading ACEs screening.

During this session, CALQIC faculty and partners shared what we’ve learned from patients and families about ACEs screening and response. Participants heard from participants in the CALQIC Patient Community Advisory Board (PCAB), results from the preliminary RAND report from the RAND Corporation, and from providers and staff from the LA County Department of Health services.

Dr. Dayna Long and Dr. Alicia Lieberman explored opportunities to build internal and external support for patients and families during and after ACEs screening, and how supports are connected to the TRIADS framework. Participants also heard from different voices at different CALQIC organizations about their experiences linking patients and families to resources and services.

Participants learned how to use screening data and dashboards to drive change, as well as how to prioritize change ideas.

Participants heard CALQIC midpoint evaluation reflections and celebrated the accomplishments of the program teams. Teams learned about peers’ work, lessons learned, opportunities, and next steps with regards to implementing ACEs screening and response.

Participants heard from CALQIC peers in a facilitated panel dialogue about ACEs screening data collection in the clinic workflow and in practice. Participants also learned how peer clinics have set up data collection systems in relation to their ACEs screening workflow and how teams are using data to guide screening implementation.

Teams had the opportunity to hear about the deep connection between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma Informed Systems from Dr. Ken Epstein, as well as how CALQIC is centering patient and community voices from Roberto Ariel Vargas, MPH. Dr. Alicia Lieberman conducted a role-playing exercise with CALQIC Coach Dr. Chris Bradley, which modeled practices that support relational healing and equity goals.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about developing sub-aims and team roadmaps, and saw examples of sub-aims related to equity and relational healing. Participants were part of conversations around authentic patient and family engagement, signage in the waiting room, and more.

Participants worked on setting aims and a plan to move their ACEs screening and response work forward in the new year. Participants were able to meet with other teams to workshop their aim statements, then finished the session in breakout rooms with their teams to plan for what’s next.

Participants learned about the results from the first CALQIC data report and discussed common challenges. Participants learned about the current state of screening across the cohort and peers’ approaches to addressing challenges.

Participants were able to explore foundational content connected to the TRIADS framework, create opportunities to share successes and challenges among peers, and troubleshoot with the support of the CALQIC coaches and their peers.

Participants were able to connect with their peers, learn about the TRIADS framework for ACEs screening and response, and hear from faculty, providers, and frontline staff about using elements of the TRIADS framework in their work.

CCHE hosted the evaluation webinar to dive deep into the evaluation of the learning collaborative.

Participants learned more about CALQIC’s program offerings and high-level evaluation expectations including what’s changed due to COVID-19. They also had an opportunity to connect with coaches and to other teams in the program and heard more about the CALQIC framework, program portal, and upcoming events.
