Together, we’ll be learning, sharing, and connecting through a three-day design challenge, which will explore:

1. Designing patient experiences for trust
2. AI in the safety net — don’t leave our workforce behind

You’ll be building prototypes that are destined to make a difference in our workforce and the communities we serve.

September 24

Get Grounded

2:30PM — 7:30PM

We’ll kickoff our time together with “field trips” around the Bay Area. Some sites will be directly related to our care challenges, and others will be inspirational. Each will give us “gold nuggets” to deepen our empathy and understanding, as well as widen our creativity lens.

Then we’ll go out to dinner at one of Oakland’s fabulous restaurants for a bit of debriefing, but mostly relaxing.

September 25

Let’s Build

8AM — 8PM

After breakfast, we will deepen our understanding through voices from our community.

Then we’ll dive into ideation, prototyping, and testing. You’ll have multiple times to refine and strengthen your ideas. Why? Because there are real outcomes you’re building for. This is not a simulation!

We’ll eat lunch together. And we will be more than halfway through the design challenge!

Before our final push on Thursday, a networking hour will be your time to decompress, connect, and laugh with your emerging community of innovators.

September 26

… And Now Pitch!

8AM — 12PM

This is the crescendo! We will start with breakfast. Then we’ll pitch our ideas to an esteemed panel of judges for positive critiques and a few surprises (!!). Our close-out will include next-steps and commitments for some of the prototypes. Will you be taking solutions home?

We’ll be providing box lunches — share a last meal with your new friends!
