As a Senior Communications Coordinator, Rina (she/her, they/them) supports CCI’s strategic communication across the organization through event management and developing experimental multimedia products to grow and scale CCI’s work. 

Prior to CCI, Rina supported COVID-19 response efforts at San Francisco Department of Public Health as a case investigator. She then worked at LifeLong Medical Care, supporting the planning and leading the organization’s COVID-19 case investigation and contact tracing program. She has also supported the development of LifeLong’s Mobile Vaccine Unit, reaching underserved neighbors at health centers, pop-up community sites, and congregate care settings. 

As a health educator, Rina worked in healthcare marketing within higher education. She synthesized data from the National College Health Assessment to launch and conduct evidence-based program curriculum and content to bolster the wellness of minority students. She specialized in comprehensive sexual education, sleep hygiene, and community organizing to support positive health outcomes in her communities.  

Rina earned her bachelors of science in public health education from Oregon Health Science University-Portland State University, specializing in sustainable urban development. She earned her master’s degree in public health from the University of San Francisco. Her research focused on equipping remote public health workforces with harm reduction methodologies in COVID-19. During her free time, Rina enjoys gardening, tending her houseplants, curating playlists, and indulging in all kinds of horror films.
