Maria (she/her) supports work to advance community health centers’ population health management capabilities in the Population Health Management Initiative (PHMI), and helps equip health centers to navigate their data capacity-building journey through CCI’s Building a Data-Driven Culture (BDDC) program.

Maria’s background is in Public Health Policy and Business Administration, receiving her bachelor degrees from the University of California, Irvine. Maria joined CCI from Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC), a long-time participant in CCI’s programs in Los Angeles. As a former Telehealth Care Coordinator at NEVHC, she was actively involved in the Connected Care Accelerator (CCA): Equity Collaborative – supporting patients, providers, and staff on telehealth sustainability and training.

Today, in her work with PHMI, Maria supports in regional learning session planning, partnerships with four Regional Associations of California (RACs), and provides coaching support for 8 community health centers in the Los Angeles area. In BDDC, her role included gathering resources and composing eLearning newsletters, as well as supporting with virtual learning sessions for the cohort.

Outside of CCI, Maria enjoys reading, traveling, learning new languages, and volunteering with her local youth groups.
