Kendra leads the development and implementation of organization’s communications strategy. She works closely with leadership and program staff to tell compelling stories about CCI and our partner clinics, spreading ideas that tangibly improve health care for low-income communities.
Before joining CCI, Kendra was a communications strategist at a national labor union, where she supported programs addressing collective bargaining, political organizing, and coalition building. She started her career as a journalist covering US politics, the automotive industry, education policy, and health care. Her byline can be found in newspapers across the country.
Kendra holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and international studies from Northwestern University. She grew up in the East Bay and — after a long detour through Chicago, Washington, DC, and Boston — she is excited to be back home. Kendra enjoys baking sourdough bread from scratch, hiking, playing Scrabble, and getting lost in museums.
