Through her work with various community-based organizations and previous international experience, Jackie (she/her) is committed to forging connections among trauma informed care, mindfulness, racial equity, and the social determinants of health.
Before joining CCI, Jackie was the community health coordinator for Huckleberry Youth Programs in San Francisco. In this role, she supported the San Francisco Unified School District with curriculum design for sexual and reproductive health education for youth. She led a team of health educators that taught more than 5,000 middle and high school students throughout the city. While at Huckleberry, Jackie focused on social determinants of health for youth and the emerging field of trauma-informed care. Jackie is a certified trainer for the Trauma Transformed and is currently receiving a certification to be a mindfulness and emotional intelligence trainer.
Jackie earned her bachelor’s degree at Loyola University New Orleans in Latin American studies and a double master’s degree in public health from Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública in Granada, Spain, and University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Outside of work, Jackie enjoys cooking, baking, reading Latin American literature, and spending time discovering California’s natural beauty.
