What you will learn
This webinar will describe the 42 CFR Part 2 federal privacy rules governing specialty substance use disorder treatment records, situations where these rules are applicable, and considerations for community health centers treating substance use disorders in primary care settings.
42 CFR Part 2 is separate from the more general Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules governing protected health information and Community Health Centers who offer MAT should consider the extent to which 42 CFR Part 2 applies to their practices. The webinar will include real-world examples for how community health centers have navigated these rules, describe applicable release of information requirements, and the rules governing sharing health information encumbered by 42 CFR Part 2.
