Angela is Kenyan-born, California-raised. Before joining CCI, Angela worked as a program manager and a mindfulness coach, providing social-emotional learning to several San Francisco Bay Area schools to empower children through mindfulness, self-awareness, confidence, self-regulation, and resilience.

Angela worked as a classroom mental health counselor, applying behavioral and therapeutic interventions to maintain the mental health needs of clients. Angela’s past work encompasses reproductive health advocacy and education for girls in Africa. Angela worked as an administrative lead and health educator liaison for a grassroots non-profit organization; the work strived to provide a more dignified, humane, and sustainable world for girls through advocacy, reproductive health awareness, education, and sustainable feminine hygiene kits. Angela strives to continue examining health factors with multi-level studies on health inequities and grow the facilities needed to address disparities innovatively and passionately.

Angela’s love for community health was the driving force for earning a bachelor’s in Science from San Francisco State University in health education and obtaining a master’s in public health from University of California, Berkeley. Beyond the work world, Angela enjoys spending time with her tribe (husband, two boys and siblings) with lots of dancing, movie watching, walking, and most recently, road trips.
