Angela (she/her) is Kenyan-born, California-raised. Before joining CCI, she worked as a program manager and a mindfulness coach, providing social-emotional learning to several San Francisco Bay Area schools to empower children through mindfulness, self-awareness, confidence, self-regulation, and resilience.

As a classroom mental health counselor, she has applied behavioral and therapeutic interventions to maintain the mental health needs of clients. Angela’s past work encompasses reproductive health advocacy and education for girls in Africa. Angela served as administrative lead and health educator liaison for a grassroots non-profit organization; the work aimed to provide a more dignified, humane, and sustainable world for girls through advocacy, reproductive health awareness, education, and sustainable feminine hygiene kits. She strives to continue examining health factors with multi-level studies on health inequities and grow the facilities needed to address disparities passionately and through innovative practices.

Angela’s love for community health was the driving force for earning a Bachelor’s in Science from San Francisco State University in health education and completing her Master’s in Public Health from University of California, Berkeley. Beyond the work world, Angela enjoys spending time with her tribe (husband, two boys, and siblings) with lots of dancing, movie watching, walking, and road trips.
