Onboarding Care Coordinators

Standardized training is important to ensure that every staff member, or person on the team, receives the same education, practice, and assessment of their skills.

But at Vista Community Clinic (VCC), newly hired care coordinators received their instructions from multiple people and by various methods. Some practiced shadowing staff, while others were self-taught through various handouts. And there was no way to test those new skills.

In our 2017 cycle of Catalyst, VCC’s team created a formalized training process and tools for new care coordinators.
